Star Wars Challenge Day 13

Today's topic is "Favorite Quote" :)
I have a LOT of favorite quotes- from the films, from the books, and from the t.v show. Some are emotional and some are funny and both will appear here :).

Obi Wan: You were the Chosen One. It was said you would destroy the Sith, not join them. Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness.
Anakin: I HATE YOU!!!
Obi Wan: You were My brother Anakin, I loved you.
Obi Wan and Anakin in Revenge of the Sith.

Anakin: Obi-Wan! May the Force be with you.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Goodbye old friend, and May the Force be with you.
Last words they say to each other as friends. Revenge of the Sith

There is no emotion, there is peace
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge
There is no passion, there is serenity
There is no chaos, there is harmony
There is no death, there is the Force.
- The Jedi Code (Standard version of the Old Jedi Order)

Anakin: Master, I've disappointed you. I have not been very appreciative of you're training....I have been arrogant and I apologize. I've just been so frustrated with the Council.
Obi-Wan: You are strong and wise, Anakin, and I am very proud of you. I have trained you since you were a small boy. I have taught you everything I know. And you have become a far greater Jedi than I could ever hope to be.
Revenge of the Sith

"It's not the size of the Jedi or the amount of power running through her lightsaber, but the strength of her heart."
―Barriss Offee

Obi-Wan Kenobi : I promised once never to remind you,
Siri Tachi: Its not you who is reminding me, is it? So much time has past.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: And so little.
Siri Tachi: And we've changed so much.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Yes. You're more beautiful. And smarter. And stronger.
Siri Tachi: And you, you've grown sadder.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: You can see that?
Siri Tachi: Forgive me if I still think I know you better than anyone else.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: You do.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Siri Tachi in Secrets of the Jedi

This is Obi-Wan Kenobi: a phenomenal pilot who doesn't like to fly. A devastating warrior, who'd rather not fight. A negotiator without peer, who'd frankly rather sit alone in a quiet cave and meditate......He is a Jedi Master, General in the Grand Army, Member of the Jedi Council........He is modest, centered, and always kind......He has become a hero......He is the ultimate Jedi......It is characteristic of Obi-Wan that he is unaware of this....and he is proud to be Anakin Skywalker's best friend.
Quotes about Obi-Wan from the Revenge of the Sith novelization.

"Blast this is why I hate flying!" Obi Wan Kenobi in Attack of the Clones

"We cannot control how we feel. Only how we choose to handle our feelings"---Qui Gon Jinn

They are closer than friends. Closer than brothers... Neither can imagine life without the other. War has forged their two lives into one... They're a team. They're the team. And both of them are sure they always will be.

The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins-but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold back.

Love can ignite the stars.

-The Phantom Menace

"For Anakin, there is nothing more important than friendship. He is the most loyal man I've ever met—loyal beyond reason in fact.....I think abstractions like peace don't mean much to him. He's loyal to people, not to principles. And he expects loyalty in return. He will stop at nothing to save me, for example, because he thinks I would do the same for him(Yoda and Mace look at him)....because he knows I would do the same for him."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi (ROTS novelization)

Anakin: You worry too much.
Obi-Wan: I have too-
Anakin: -because I don't worry at all, right?

They stood a moment, side by side.
Anakin didn't look at him; he stared into the door, through the door, searching in its shimmering depths for a hint of an unguessable future.
He couldn't imagine not being at war.
"Anakin." Obi-Wan's voice had gone soft, and his hand was warm on Anakin's arm.
"There is no other Jedi I would rather have at my side right now. No other man."
Anakin turned, and found within Obi-Wan's eyes a depth of feeling he had only rarely glimpsed in all their years together; and the pure uncomplicated love that rose up within him then felt like a promise from the Force itself.
"I...I wouldn't have it any other way, Master."
"I believe," his onetime Master said with a gently humourous look of astonishment at the words coming out of his mouth, "that you should get used to calling me Obi-Wan."
"Obi-Wan,", Anakin said, "let's go get the Chancellor."
"Yes," Obi-Wan said. "let's." - Revenge of the Sith novel

Nether pilot was wearing a helmet so Anakin could hear Obi-Wan plainly when he shouted: “For all the jinks and jokes you’ve taken me through there’s no one else I’d rather fly with.”
Anakin canted his head and smiled. “It’s about you admitted it. Can I take that to mean you’ll follow my lead without question?”
“To the best of my ability,” Obi-Wan said. “I may not always be able to remain at your wing but I won’t be far off and I’ll always have you back.”
“When I call for help you’ll come speeding to the rescue.”
“The day you call for help, I’ll know that we’re both in over our heads.”
Anakin adopted a serious look. “Obi-Wan you don’t know how many times you’ve already rescued me.”
Obi-Wan swallowed the lump that formed in his throat. “Then whatever lies ahead for us shouldn’t be a problem.”
Anakin laughed lightly. "Who'll restore peace to the galaxy is we don't?" Obi-Wan returned a tight-lipped nod.
"At least you said we." - Labyrinth of Evil

Sun suddenly burst through the clouds overhead, dazzling Qui-Gon's sight. The glare caused Obi-Wan's features to blur and dissolve. For a moment, Qui-Gon didn't see the boy. - the end of "Secrets of the Jedi"

Obi-Wan: You said torment.
Anakin: Excuse me?
Obi-Wan: You said, 'The things that normally torment you don't bother you at all.' Not that thing that trouble you, but torment you. It was a strong word. What torments you, Anakin?
Anakin: Perhaps I spoke for strongly than I meant to
Obi-Wan: That is not an answer.
Anakin: Sometimes I don't want to be the Chosen One!
Obi-Wan: That is not surprising. Many gifts can be burdens.
Anakin: The Force is so strong. I can feel it so much. I feel so much. I don't want to feel so much! Why am I chosen? Why is it me? Can't I refuse it? Can't you let me refuse it? Can't you take it away?
Obi-Wan: Anakin-
Anakin: Take it from me. Please, Master.(the depth of shock and compassion showed in his eyes, in the way he gently placed his hands on Anakin's shoulders)

(with a look of total disgust, Obi-Wan puts on the robe)
Siri: Now you need some boots to match. (picks up a pair) Here.
Obi-Wan: No......
Siri: Oh, for galaxy's sake, don't be such a stick-in-the-swamp. Don't you want to capture Zan Arbor?
Obi-Wan:(looking at himself in the mirror: I really hate this. I look like a full feathered idiot!
Siri: I think you look....incredible.(breaks out into laughing.
Obi-Wan: So glad to amuse. (finds Siri's outfit) There you go, Valadon.

  7. I read Wild Space once - Obi-Wan was cool! Loved all the Jedi Apprentice references, but it was kind of intense at the end. Once I work through all the other books I want to read (and reread), I'll try to get those!

  9. And I also loved the Jedi Apprentice references in Wild Space. And Obi-Wan was just SO COOL! Karen Miller, at least in this novel, wrote Obi-Wan very well( I also love how Jude Watson and Matthew Stover write him)
