Equal Love; Equal Rights
I support the rights of my LGBT sisters and brothers and I believe that they should be able to marry whomever they choose. If you don’t agree, then fine you have that right, but don’t take what you think out on these people. For example, I really don't like it when people say that only Christians go to heaven(since I think that everyone goes)but I would never bully someone because of their beliefs or how they are (unless, of course, they were some sort of sicko psychopath, but that's something different entirely). So in other words, if you can’t say something or do something nice don’t say/do it at all. I've seen and heard some of the horrible things these people have to endure and it truly is heartbreaking, especially when it comes from their families. I feel very bad for the man here and I hope that one day he will see LGBT have the ability to marry with out discrimination and to be accepted by all. I love you, Shane, and May God Bless you. And may your partner, Tom, rest in peace.
May the Force be with you..Always

I agree. If peoiple don't get basic human rights, I don't know who we will be.
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree :) I think that all people should have basic human rights since everyone deserves a chance.
DeleteYou believe that every human being goes to heaven? How does that work? God just shoves them in heaven whether they want it or not?
ReplyDeleteYes I do think that- simply because if God loved the world so much, why would he damn people to hell or oblivion? While I do wish that some truly evil people went to hell, I know that God is way more forgiving than I am so, from what I've read and picked up over the years, that is the conclusion I draw. I respect your opinion to think otherwise, but that is the way I think on the matter and I'm not going to change my mind on the matter.

Sorry I didn't reply! I didn't see this! (Where can I find where people have responded to my comments? I can only seem to find where people have commented on my posts...)
DeleteAha, I see. Thank you for respecting my opinion too. :) However, why would Jesus die for people's sins if God was just going to let everybody off anyway? Jesus seems to have wasted his time going through all that if no one was going to be made to pay for their sins.
I hope you don't mind my questions... I just have an interest in why people believe what they do.
That's okay; I'm not sure how you can check that. If I ever find out, I'll tell you.
DeleteThanks and you're welcome :). Okay, so my reasoning for why Jesus came to Earth is this- I think that, for one, he was to be an example of how people should live their lives(giving the poor, living peacefully, being selfless instead of selfish, etc). I also think Jesus died to forgive everyone's sins, which means that, yes we are saved, but that doesn't mean we are supposed to just slack off; it's a balance of law and gospel. On Judgement Day I believe that God will show everyone what they did wrong and we will feel bad for it and that he'll forgive us. Another thing I believe is that God was showing that he loved us so much that he was willing to come down to our level and experience being a human along with us.
Hope this answers your question :)
That's okay, I like it when people ask questions and try to understand other people's beliefs :)
I agree that one of the reasons Jesus came to earth was to be an example. In fact, I pretty much agree with everything you've said.
DeleteSo you DO believe that Jesus died for our sins? The only difference between you and me being that you think everyone automatically gets into heaven for that, whereas I think you have to repent and tell God you accept salvation. Am I right? Then according to your belief there is no use for telling the gospel because everybody is already automatically going to heaven? Unless of course, sharing the gospel merely to make people a bit happier here on earth.
Okay, good! Some people get all out of shape when I want to question what they think... even though all I do is pretty much clarify things.
Yes, your right, that'is what I think. :) And yes, my belief in sharing the gospel is to make people happier on Earth. :).
DeleteI agree, I can't stand it when people get all out of shape over every little thing. For me, as long as people are being kind and respectful, I'll be fine :)
Okay, I understand now. But what about people who hate God and don't want to go to heaven? Does he make them go anyway? I've been reading about religions recently... there are people like that.
DeleteI think he gives them a choice on what they want to do when they die and see him.
DeleteAh, okay. That makes more sense to me. But that doesn't necessarily mean that all people will go to heaven... they may choose not to.
DeleteAh, too bad. Being a Roman Catholic, I'm still getting hit by all the patriarchal rules around me. You know, I almost gave up hope on Christianity because I couldn't get full gender equality while under its rules.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you. Love cannot be enforced. People should have their right to be with whoever they want, regardless of gender, belief, race, etc.
Glad you agree. :) I know, it can get really discouraging sometimes, especially when a lot of Christians are saying and doing things that aren't right. Luckily, I have the church I go to and the Christian Left to keep my hope in Christianity.
DeleteI will believe in Jesus no matter what happens, but I really can't agree with the patriarchal system in the Roman Catholic.
DeleteEven as an altar server, I had to serve behind the boys in Eucharist masses. They hold all of the stuff I wish I could hold. A newbie boy got to handle an item rarely tasked to newbies like him. I have handled it once, but it was in emergency.
That sounds really annoying and unfair, sorry you have to put up with that :p
