Pens, Thespians, and Words Oscar Awards :)

Well, if you are like me and want to me an actor(or just love movies), you might have watched the Oscars last weekend. I sometimes miss it, but last Sunday I decided that, you know, I should watch it this year. It's always fun to watch and, even though my favorite films are hardly EVER nominated(seriously, if it were up to me, ALL the Star Wars movies and Lord of the Rings films would have gotten Best Picture), I do like seeing who wins. So, since movies I do love never get the chance to be nominated, I thought I'd do so here :)

So, what do you think of my Oscar awards and what films would you have nominated? :)

And since my friend James from JandJ Productions had the Sunflower Award on his blog and tagged anyone who wanted to answer his questions, I thought I'd do so here

What is your favorite movie/TV/anime/video game soundtrack (and no, musicals do not count)?: My favorite soundtracks are- Star Wars, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, Harry Potter, The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Doctor Who/Torchwood, Attack on Titan, Romeo X Juliet, and various Studio Ghibli movies.

What are your opinions on the supposed "classic" films such as The GodfatherCitizen KaneGone with the Wind, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. If you have not seen any of them, do you ever plan to watch them?: I haven't seen too many classic films as of yet, but I definitely plan to at some point since, as an aspiring actor, they will be important for me to see(though I have seen some classic films).

What is your opinion of anime?: I really like it! :) It's a different way of telling stories, which I find entertaining and awesome :)

What is your favorite anime? (if you have not seen anime, what is your favorite animated series):
For TV series, definitely Attack on Titan(Shingeki no Kyojin)- it's amazing, I love the characters, plot, music, and world. Basically, I'm really obsessed with it. I also love Romeo X Juliet, Death Note, Fruits Basket, and Princess Tutu. I also plan on watching several other animes soon :).

For movies, probably a tie between my top three favorite Studio Ghibli films. My favorite anime films are- Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Tales from Earthsea, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, The Secret World of Arietty, Howl's Moving Castle, The Cat Returns, Whispers of the Heart, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Tortoro, and Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

  1. Excellent choices all around! :D

I suppose you have now seen Gravity and 12 Years a Slave, so cool. I can't wait to see Gravity! :) Once I see a few more of the movies from last year I will probably make a J and J Productions Awards. :)

I am not disagreeing with you or anything, but I do believe Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3 would technically be Adapted Screenplay since they are based on comics, but I do agree with your nomination of them! :)

I can't wait to watch As the Wind Rises! :)

Cool answers for my questions too! I plan to try and watch most of the Studio Ghibli this summer in order of release throughout the years. :D

    1. Thank you!! :D

I haven't gotten around to seeing them yet(I was going to get Gravity yesterday but they were all checked out) but I do really want to see them. I know I'll probably like them :)
Cool, looking forward to it! :)

Oh dangit, I completely forgot about that!*facepalm*. You're right, I guess they would be considered adapted screenplay. My brain was just stuck on adapted from books.

      Same here! :)

Thanks! :) That's awesome, I hope you enjoy them all! :D

  2. That's a really great idea! Yeah, it seems like the movies I like are rarely up for many, if any, academy awards. :P Great choices on all of them, and the questions!
