Movie 30 Day(well, I'm doing it all at one) Challenge

Day 01 - Favorite foreign film

This French version of one of my favorite novels "Notre-Dame de Paris" is definitely my third or fourth favorite film addition(my top two are the ones from 1997 and 1982; I also love the Disney one) and it is amazing! :D Most of the acting is very, very good, it holds up well for a film made in the 50s, it follows the book well(except for some things towards the end) , and was definitely an adaption I want to watch again(and remember, only watch the French version with English subs).

The Chinese film "To Live". I seriously wasn't expecting it to be as incredible as it was, but I ended up loving the film. The main reason having to do with the lead of the story. However, after a weird beginning, the film starts to get really good and, though sad, it is a classic by the end. Also, it was interesting to see how the Communist obession here corresponded with the communist hatred here int eh 60s. Whereas here people were all "You're a COMMUNIST!" over in China, people were like "You're a CAPITALIST!".

Day 02 - Most underrated film

The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. These films are master pieces(Revenge of the Sith being my favorite movie ever), and yet, a lot of people don't see how good they are. :(

Day 03 - A film that makes you happy

"Return of the Jedi". The ending makes me so very happy :)

It definitely has its sad moments, but in the end, it has such a sad, yet happy (sad is happy for deep people) finish. Love the sequels too :D

As a kid who grew up reading the books and watching the movies, it was definitely bittersweet seeing the kids get on the Hogwarts Express while the theme by John Williams plays

Day 04 - A film that makes you sad

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. I think you all know the reason for this being listed.....

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. That ending....:(

"Les Miserables"; it has a sadly happy finish and I almost cried during the last song.

Day 05 - Favorite love story in a film

Hmmm...well, most of my ships are from books or TV shows, so....I don't know....
I do find Frollo liking Esmeralda interesting, but I absolutely DO NOT ship that.

I guess Hermione and Ron, even though it's from a book first.

Day 06 - Favorite actor/actress

You just HAD to ask, didn't you?

I'll make this as short as possible

Guy actors

Ewan McGregor

Tom Hiddleston

Robert Carlyle

Chris Hemsworth

Liam Neeson

Christopher Eccleston

David Tennant

James Marsters

John Barrowman

Jensen Ackles

David Boreanaz

Girl Actors

Emilie de Ravin

Emma Watson

Jennifer Lawrence

Billie Piper

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Alyson Hannigan

Summer Glau

Freema Agyeman

Catherine Tate

Day 07 - The best plot twist/ending

A lot of good plot twists were in TV shows for me, but the movies has some good ones as well.
For best plot twist- Darth Vader being Luke's father(which I already knew, due to Toy Story 2), the one at the end of Thor: The Dark World XD, the many in Serenity, several things in Avatar, the one in Iron Man 3 with the Mandarin, and the one that will be at the end of Catching Fire(It's awesome in the book and I hear it is really well done in the film).

For endings, I love: Revenge of the Sith,  Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Return of the King, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, Serenity, Les Miserables, my favorite Studio Ghibli films, Godspell, Big Fish, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, and Ender's Game.

Day 08 - The best opening/closing credits

Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and all the Marvel films :)

Day 09 - The best soundtrack/score to a film

Star Wars; basically anything by John Williams
Howard Shore's scores for the Lords of the Rings/The Hobbit films are genius are well.

Day 10 - Favorite classic film

Classic film? Let me think. I definitely will say the Star Wars films and Indiana Jones.
I'll go with these renditions of "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame"

Day 11 - A film that you hate

Twilight: The book was bland and the movie was just plain bad- the cinematography was AWFUL and the fight scene at the end was so lame my sister and I had to stop(we were watching it because we wanted to make fun of it; plus, she wanted to know the story, so she could also say she didn't like it, but she didn't want to read the book). Don't watch this. Ever

Barnyard. Dumb. Just DUMB! First of all bulls do NOT have udders; it's a FEMALE part makers of the film! :P And the correct term for a male is a bull(or a steer if they've been castrated). Dumb, dumb, dumb!

Day 12 - A film that changed your opinion about something

Thor and Iron Man 1. Before seeing these two films, I hadn't really seen any good super hero films, except for X-Men which I always considered as something different, and just as awesome, from the typical super hero film(though I've always been very interested in super heroes and loved playing games about those kind of people with my sister and cousin) . I remember being pleasantly surprised when, in Iron Man 1, Pepper didn't get captured or rendered into a weakling. I have these films to thank for me to getting fully into this genre.

Day 13 - A guilty pleasure

A guilty pleasure? I don't really have one

Day 14 - A film that you used to love but now hate

Except for a few lame kiddy shows I can't believe I used to like, I haven't stopped liking any film I love.

Day 15 - Favorite film sequel

All the Star Wars sequals(and prequels), the Lord of the Rings sequels, and that sort of thing. The Little Mermaid and Cinderella both had good sequels, surprisingly.

Day 16 - Film character you relate to the most

Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Samwise Gamgee, Hermione Granger, Eowyn, Thor, Loki, Luke Skywalker, and Jesse Aarons(from Bridge to Terabithia).

Day 17 - Favorite film quote

"You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you." - Obi-Wan Kenobi in Revenge of the Sith

Day 18 - A film that you wish more people had seen

A lot of my favorite movies have been seen, so I'll go with the not-so popular
Thor
Serenity
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1997 and 1982 versions)

Day 19 - The most hilarious film you've seen

The Avengers definitely had me in stitches

"The Hobbit" also had some awesome humor

While being extremely serious and tense, this show was hilarious!! XD

Day 20 - A film you wish someone would make

Basically all of Jude Watson's Star Wars books

The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins

The Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix

The Seventh Tower series

Better Percy Jackson films and films for Heroes of Olympus

The Power of Five series by Anthony Horowitz

Sea of Trolls trilogy

Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness

Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfeld

Day 21 - Favorite film from your favorite actor/actress

A lot of my favorite actors are in TV shows too, but here are some that I saw first in film.
Ewan McGregor- Revenge of the Sith
Tom Hiddleston- Thor: The Dark World

Emma Watson- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2
Jennifer Lawrence- The Hunger Games

Day 22 - Favorite documentary

There are some but I can't think of any at the moment.

Day 23 - Favorite animated film

Since I love a lot of these kind of films, I'm going to separate them-
Disney

Mulan

Beauty and the Beast

The Hunchback of Notre-Dame

Cinderella

The Little Mermaid

Tangled

Anime

Spirited Away

Tales from Earthsea

Princess Mononoke

Children Who Chase Lost Voices

And other Studio Ghibli titles, such as "The Secret World of Arietty", "Whispers of the Heart", and "The Cat Returns".

Day 24 - Favorite film based on a book/comic/etc.

Lord of the Rings films, Harry Potter films, The Chronicles of Narnia films, Les Miserables, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, The Hunger Games, and Ender's Game

Day 25 - Favorite film villain

Darth Vader

Loki

Dom Claude Frollo(more anti-hero); (Richard Harris and Derek Jacobi are my favorite)

Javert(anti-hero)

Day 26 - A film that you love but everyone else hates

"The Phantom Menace". So many people hate this film, but I adore it.

Day 27 - A film you wish you had seen in theaters

Basically,
the entire Star Wars saga
Lord of the Rings
Thor
Serenity
the Harry Potter films I didn't get to see in theaters(1-3)

Day 28 - Favorite film from your favorite director

Revenge of the Sith, which was directed by George Lucas.

Day 29 - Favorite film from your childhood

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The Land Before Time

Barney

And all the Disney and Pixar films I grew up with.

Day 30 - Your favorite film of all time

Revenge of the Sith. Duh.

  1. Awwhh... I adore TPM, too! It wasn't that bad in my opinion (personally, I prefer it to ROTS and AOTC). I think it's Jar-Jar who caused most people to hate that movie.

  3. Great picks! And another really cool tag. :D Princess Mononoke is a fantastic choice for best animated film, I have to say that it is currently my favorite animated movie.
It would have been amazing to have seen Star Wars in theaters, especially the original trilogy back in the 70s and 80s. If I had a TARDIS, I would totally go there! XD
