Books of 2010

How many books read in 2010
Over two hundred

How many fiction and non fiction?
The majority of it was fiction though I did read non fiction for school.

Male/Female author ratio?
I read books by both. I don't really care what the gender of the author is, just that they can tell a good story with well developed characters.

Favourite book of 2010?
Hmmmm...That's a tough one since I've read a lot of amazing books this year.
Well, I have to say Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover completely blew me away, talk about a powerful story, filled with gripping characterazation and action. I also really enjoyed reading all most all of the prequel era and Old Republic era Star Wars books this year, like: Jedi Quest series, the adult and junior novelizations, books taking place before and during the Clone Wars and books about the New Sith Wars and Great Hyperspace war. I also loved reading Catching Fire, Mockingjay, The Uglies series, Sisters of the Sword, The Power of five series, Speaker for the Dead, Maximum Ride, Everlost, The Islands of the Blessed, and many others.

Least favourite?
Well that would have to be a toss up between Thirteen Reasons Why and any of the Karen Traviss Star Wars books. I disliked Thirteen Reasons Why because I hated all most every single character except the main boy one and...I don't know, the level of innaproriateness got to me. The reason I disliked the books m=by Karen Traviss is because she HATES Jedi and LOVES Clones and Mandolorians. Her hatred of the jedi comes through strongly in each book I've read by her, especially Triple Zero and No Prisoners and it just infuriated me to the point of putting the book off.

Newest?
In when it came out wise it would either be Mockingjay or The Lost Olympian. In when I got it the Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest books I got for Christmas.

Longest and shortest book titles?
Graceling and Mockingjay for shortest. Any book with a series title and book title for the longest.

Longest and shortest books?
The Shortest would probably be one of the Magic Tree House books or one of the books for school. The longest would probably be Any of the adult ones I read.

How many books from the library?
Most were from the library

Any translated books?
The Diary of a Napoleonic foot soldier.

Most read author of the year, and how many books by that author?
Jude Watson(Her Jedi Quest series) or Kathryn Lasky (Her Guardians of Ga'Hoole series)

Any re-reads?
I re-read Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter series

Favourite character of the year?
My favorite character is probably Obi-Wan. I've been reading so many books about him and watching him grow from a young, headstrong Padawan who just wanted to please his Master and be the best Jedi he could be to a powerful Jedi Master capable of beating the Chosen One is astounding. His love for his friends is beautiful and tragic. I also really liked Siri Tachi, Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Tally, Kimi, Maximum Ride, The five Gatekeepers(Matt, Pedro, Jamie, Scott, and Scarlet), and Anakin Skywalker.

Which countries did you go to through the page in your year of reading?
England, Japan, Egypt, France, countries through out Africa, and countless of fictional worlds.

Which book wouldn’t you have read without someone’s specific recommendation?
The Uglies series, Maximum Ride, and Everlost.

Which author was new to you in 2010 that you now want to read the entire works of?
Matthew Stover, Orson Scott Card, and James Patterson.

Which books are you annoyed you didn’t read?
I want to read The Necromancer and The Lost Olympian.

Did you read any books you have always been meaning to read?
The last of the Keys to the Kingdom, a lot of the Star Wars books, The Silmarillion, and others

What books are you planning to read in 2011?
Any book that sounds good. I want to read the Gone series, the rest of the Star Wars books, and some of the classics.

  1. Nice list! I didn't get to read the Necromancer either...which I regret. You'll like the Gone series, they're a lot like Lord Of the Flies-only with magic powers and a better story.

  3. Thanks! I might have to return The Necromancer to the library but I WILL read it soon. Next time I get books I'll have to the Gone series.
